DESCRIPTION:This coming Wednesday’s summer event will be a restricted opening rapid tournament. The opening will be fixed with 2 moves (for each player) into the Trompowsky: \n1.  d4  Nf6\n2.  Bg5  Ne4 \nExciting stuff. Expect varied results. \nIf this works as a format we could try other fixed opening mini tournaments. Interesting gambit lines have been suggested.

DESCRIPTION:Congratulations to Louise Head for her stunning performance in the Czech Open over the last few weeks. Against strong opposition comprising of international masters\, FIDE masters and grandmasters\, Louise scored 5 out of 9 for a performance rating of 2382 ELO (224 ECF). \nLouise will be in the club this week to go through some of her games. Club members are asked to come along and see the inside thoughts when playing against such high-level opposition.
