DESCRIPTION:It’s December\, nearly\, and Christmas is not far off\, which means our annual Christmas handicapped mini rapid play tournament is coming up. We have the Wellington social club\, Napoleon’s Retreat\, booked for the Friday before Christmas \,that’s Friday 20th December. \nYou all know the format (basically it’s a speed handicapped event where anyone can win). It helps me enormously in preparation to know who is attending\, and who is not\, so please do let me know. \nWe usually start at 7:30 and probably will do so again this time\, but if there are many attendees\, like there have been in recent years\, then we may need to get going a little earlier\, 7pm. \nLet me know if your intentions\, and I will send out reminders from time to time.

DESCRIPTION:Saturday 21st September – Camberley and Crowthorne chess clubs will be appearing at Camberley Farmers Market. The aim is to try and kindle an interest in chess and recruit members. \nWe propose to have a rota system. The stall will need to be covered between 10 and 4. Please put the date in your diary and let Christine know if you are able to come along and help. We need to be proactive in trying to encourage new members. We also need to be proactive in trying to keep them. \nTo help achieve this we propose to have a rota for a member to be present and look after new members. Please let me know if you are available for the rota. This will depend on fixtures so I won’t be able to devise such a rota until I have the full fixture list. \nIt is very important that we all pull together and try and ensure the continuation of chess in this area.
